Our Packaging Partnerships
Working with the schemes shaping New Zealand's recycling future
Packaging sustainability isn't something we can solve alone. That's why we're a member of several packaging partnerships across New Zealand, working alongside industry and government to build real, practical recycling infrastructure, not just for our own packaging, but for the wider system these materials move through.
We're a founding member of the soft plastics recycling scheme. This scheme supports drop-off locations across New Zealand and the transportation of soft plastics to be processed and recycled, giving households and businesses a genuine end-of-life option for packaging that's historically been difficult to recycle.
We're a founding member of the caps and lids scheme, launched in 2024. This is a growing initiative aimed at expanding drop-off locations across the country, giving consumers an interim recycling option while solutions for these smaller plastic components continue to evolve.
We're a member of the food and beverage carton recycling scheme. A voluntary product stewardship programme, also launched in 2024, supporting drop-off locations and end-of-life solutions for food and beverage cartons.
Why we're involved
Currently, 97.48% of our packaging is recyclable. Being part of these schemes is how that number turns into something that actually happens, real drop-off points, real transport and processing, not just a design specification. We're continuing to evolve our approach to end of life, working to ensure our products are designed for recyclability through kerbside or drop-off collection, and continuing to evolve our design and material selection to reduce environmental impact and respond to potential Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes.
