Our NZSCA Partnership

More than milk. A long-term partner of the NZ coffee community.
Dedicated supporters of the NZ specialty coffee scene

Meadow Fresh has been the principal sponsor of the New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) for more than 10 years. It's a partnership we value greatly, and over that time we've built strong relationships across the wider coffee industry that we're genuinely proud of.

The NZSCA's mission is to inspire, connect and celebrate the people and businesses who make specialty coffee thrive, and that's exactly what we're here to help them do. The Goodman Fielder Food Service and Meadow Fresh team are actively involved in all NZSCA events, and Sarah McMath, Marketing Manager for GF Foodservice, is 2nd Vice President on the NZSCA board, working with other members to help develop and oversee the association's event programme. She also creates opportunities for industry connection, provides barista support, and helps showcase New Zealand talent.

Where you'll see us

Our partnership with New Zealand's coffee industry goes well beyond the NZSCA's events. While we're proud to sponsor them, we also support baristas, cafés and coffee roasters directly:

  • Providing high quality New Zealand milk, trusted for latte art and performance

  • Partnerships with coffee roasters, technicians and educators
    Competition support for emerging talent

  • Marketing support for cafés, including Good Shout and free coffee day.

It's also why you'll see Meadow Fresh described as "The Milk Behind the Masters," a phrase we use specifically for this connection to the NZSCA and its championships.

What it means for the industry

These events create real value up and down the coffee community:

  • For the coffee industry. They build visibility and credibility for New Zealand as a specialty coffee leader, inspire innovation and higher standards across the supply chain, and showcase partner brands to engaged coffee professionals and café customers.
  • For baristas and cafés. They offer professional development through competition and coaching, recognition and career opportunities at a national and international level, and a platform to share stories, creativity and technical expertise.
  • For customers. They bring fresh energy, excitement and knowledge into cafés, and raise the bar for coffee quality and experience right across New Zealand.

The NZSCA creates more than competitions, it's built a vibrant, connected and thriving specialty coffee community, and we're proud to be part of it.

What our customers say

"All of our sponsors are incredible, but our principal sponsor is truly next level. What really sets them apart though is the genuine care they bring and the way they show up to have fun with us on-site at events. We are so grateful."

Emma Markland-Webster, Former Event Director, NZSCA

"Meadow Fresh don't just put money in as a sponsor, you really care about our industry. Thank you."

Hanna Teramoto, NZ Barista Champion 2025

What we say

"One of the things I love most about the NZSCA is the sense of community. The championships and events bring together passionate, talented people who are constantly raising the bar and helping our industry grow. We're incredibly proud of our long-standing partnership and the relationships we've built along the way. At Goodman Fielder Food Service, being Your Food Partner means supporting our customers beyond the products we provide, and helping create opportunities for connection, learning and success across the coffee industry."
