Barista Regional Champs 2024

A CELEBRATION OF COFFEE & NEW ZEALAND’S BEST BARISTA’S.

The Meadow Fresh Regional Barista Champs were held during March, and it was an extraordinary few weekends of coffee, camaraderie and competition!

It was great to see several first-time competitors participating in these events.  While it is always amazing to see those who have competed before and are well versed on what is expected, one of the main reasons of the Regional Champs is to encourage baristas of all levels to have a go! 

These events certainly fostered that attitude, and really highlighted the strength and welcoming nature of the specialty coffee community.  The atmosphere at each event was electric, and you could feel the passion and excitement of coffee enthusiasts coming together.

Congratulations to our Winners; Auckland - Hanna Teramoto, Christchurch - Bonnie Lam, Wellington - Jason Moore and to everyone who competed. 

To see the where the winner of the National Barista Champs ends up, our current Barista Champion Honoka Kawashima is about to represent New Zealand on the world stage in Busan.  To watch her performance at the World Barista Champs, click HERE.  She will be on stage at 3:06pm NZT, Thursday 2nd of May.
